Happy Birthday to Me!

ModernMeowSept

Today is not only my birthday but my friend Brittany too!!!

I can’t believe that today I turn twenty three years old. Yesterday my birthday Twin surprised me with a ticket to see a taping of The Voice. Amazingly I got to see Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys and Adam Levine! They were so sweet and just as beautiful as I imagined. Alicia Keys was so loving when fans from the audience would yell out that they loved her she would just give the sweetest smile and mouthed I love you too.

We waited for almost three hours to get in and seat but it was an experience I will never forget. It was a perfect way to start off our birthday week.

I’m pretty excited to see what the week brings, I’m hoping that the universe sends me some luck.

The Broad Museum

Finally I had the privilege to go and see the Broad museum (insert praise hand Emoji).

I waited three months to finally see it and let me tell you it was worth it. When I was still going to FIDM I had the most amazing teacher.  She taught the history of art and her name was Ms. Repetto. Many people didn’t like that class mostly because they saw no need to learn it. But they couldn’t be more wrong, because there are so many design principles to designing art. In order to create anything aesthetically pleasing you have to follow the basic design principles.

So when I went to that museum it took me back to when my teacher lectured about certain art era’s. I was blown away from the modern art they had and the pop art era. I even got to see one of the many urinals that they had made for the Dada (my personal favorite). They even featured some of the art that I studied.

Here are some photos I got to take that day. The art was so beautiful that sadly my camera couldn’t capture so I asked my boyfriend to use his incredible camera phone. The only disappointment I had was that I didn’t get to see the Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room. It was already booked when we arrived in the museum and were told that it was very unlikely that we would see it.

I highly recommend you reserve tickets online and see this place in person. You won’t be disappointed 🙂

Happy Monday!

Designer Con 2015

Good Afternoon!

Dcon

This week we went to the Pasadena Designer Con and it was so inspiring. The tickets we really cheap it was seven dollars each but we actually got lucky and got them for five. As we entered we were overwhelmed with so many amazing art pieces. We had no idea where to beginning. Seeing local artists come together to sell and support each other was amazing. We talked to a few artists and they mentioned that last year it wasn’t anywhere near as big and crowded as it was this year. There was buttons for a dollar, cute lazar cut earrings, illustrations and sculptors.

Here are a few things that I saw and fell in love with.
