IPSY May Glam Bag Review

Happy Friday everyone!

(Woot woot) I’m so excited to start my weekend already! This month my dream came true.

I got to try out the product that I have been dying to get my hands on. It is the Glam Glow Super Mud clearing treatment. If that wasn’t enough to put a smile on my face, I also got taken off Sephora’s play waitlist!!! So this month I received a monthly box from Sephora Play. On Monday I’ll be posting my review on the Sephora Play box. I would have posted it today too but there are still some thing I need to try out.

Without further ado lets start this months review.

1. Hikari Cosmetics: Shimmer Bronzer in shade Radiate. I personally loved this bronzer because it could be used for many things. I used it as eye shadow and it created such a golden glow to my eyes. Everyone was asking what eye shadow I was using and some people actually thought it was from Urban Decay. I even used it as a highlighter and that looked so beautiful especially in the sunlight. I felt like this product hit the nail on the head, its basically perfect for the on the go girl.

  1. Glamour Dolls: Gloss Snob in the shade Twirl. This lip gloss is perfect for that animal lover because it is completely cruelty-free. I put this on the summer must have list because this lip gloss is amazing especially for this price ($1.99). It is long lasting, not sticky and stays smooth. The color is perfect because it actually blends in with your natural lip color. I was afraid that the color was going to be a nasty pink but it was surprisingly a beautiful color. I am definitely going to buy some for my niece because she is a huge fan of cruelty – free products.
  2. Trissola: Chia Smoothing Oil.  So I tried this product out twice and my hair hated it. I have an oily scalp so only certain hair products agree with me. This one however did not, it made my hair feel extremely greasy. I tried to use it on the tips of my dry hair but I still got the same result.
  3. Vera Mona: Eye Smudger Brush. I used this brush to apply the bronzer as an eye shadow. It helped a lot when I was creating smokey eye or winged liner look. It achieves everything you want and helps when you need to do final touches on your look.
  4. GLAMGLOW: SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment. Since this product was released I have been dying to try it out. When it first came out everyone was talking about the miracles that this mud masks creates. I heard that it helped so many people suffering from acne scarring or problem areas. So I was beyond excited when I saw it in my bag this month. Here comes the sad part… When I was getting ready to squeeze it out nothing was coming out. So I squeezed harder and out of the other end comes the masks exploding out. It got on my bathroom walls. So as I attempted to put it on I was completely out and started getting some from the wall. After I washed it off I did see a huge difference on my face. My skin became brighter and the next day I saw some zits disappear. The only thing that was a con was the fact that I only got one use out of it when I could have had three. So if you decided to buy it get it in a jar or else it will just be a sad mess.

I hope you guys enjoyed my review and I wish you a nice relaxing weekend.

April Glam Bag Review

Hello my beautiful readers!

Hope your Monday isn’t too mundane. Since my mind has been all over the place I completely forgot to post my IPSY Glam bag review for last month.

So lets get started!

IMG_4046 (1)1. Adesse New York: Organic Infused Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in Irina.

Great product, great formula, great shade! It’s very thick, and it was almost completely opaque in one coat. I love the grey color of the polish, and it doesn’t have a very strong nail polish smell to it, which is awesome.

  1. Tarte: LipSurgence™ lip crème in wonder.

Where do I start, I completely fell in love with this lip crème. I love the delicious fresh smell that comes from this one you swipe it on your lips. I love the natural red color it gives my lips. The added bonus is that it stains your lips a little with the color. So even when it does wipe off you still get a natural tint to your lips. Oh and I forgot to mention it doubles as a blush. I mean what else could you ask for.

  1. Starlooks: Cream Eye Shadow in Rose Gold.

My second favorite is this eyeshadow! I love the rose gold color especially because it is so pigmented. I honestly feel like a million bucks when I wear it and the complements never stop. This will be a summer staple for me!

  1. Harvey Prince: Keravegan Hair Mask

It smelled great – which is why it I used it all up. But as far as masks go, it was a flop! I think my hair was dryer after I used it. It felt like straw! When I used the whole thing my hair was much smoother.

  1. Luxie Beauty: Dreamcatcher Tapered Highlighter Brush 522

I like this brush for my highlighter! I was using a blush brush for highlighting, but the angle of this distributes it just the way it should.

March Glam Bag Review

MarchGlamBag

This months Glam bag was interesting. I received an eyeshadow brush, green eyeliner, argan oil (for my hair), liquid bronzer, and a liquid lipstick.

  1. Marc Anthony: Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Cream.

This was my favorite for this month. It’s a smoothing cream that you apply after taking a shower.  I loved it because it not only makes your hair smell good but it calms the frizzy mess my hair loves to be. I put it on right after I’m out of the shower and I let it sit in there for about 5 minutes or longer depending on how much time I have. After letting it sit in I blow dry it and I think that it makes blow drying my hair that much faster. Once I run out I think I might stop by my local drugstore and get another.

 2. OFRA Cosmetics: Green Go Eyeliner

I was so disappointed when it came to this eyeliner. The reason why I was disappoint was because it didn’t have any pigment to it. I kept apply it on and when I finally got the color to show 5 minutes later it would be gone. Let just say I used it once and that will be my last.

3.Beau Gâchis® Paris: Eyeshadow Brush

Honestly I didn’t see a huge difference when using this brush. I felt like it was an okay product but I still like my Naked pallet brush better.

  1. NYX Cosmetics: Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick

I love everything about this lipstick except for the shade of color I got. At first I thought it would be a nice pink or dark purple. But sadly it was neon pink and that was definitely not my shade. So most likely I’m going to give it away to whoever wants it. I would buy this product again but I would pick a better shade that suits me.

  1. TEMPTU: Warm Glow Bronzer

What I think I like about this product is that you don’t have to be a make-up guru to apply it on. It is extremely lightweight and easy to apply. Another thing I like about this product is you can easily build up color so you don’t leave the house with brown streaks.

I hope you enjoyed my review and my cute gif too! Feel free to show some love and like this post.

Love,

Your Modern Meow

Today I wanted to share with you my favorites of this week.

Another favorite I discovered was Whole Foods bacon. Yes, you read correctly BACON.

I know what you are thinking bacon…really? But since its Whole Foods the bacon is top tier. For example not only is that bacon more flavorful then your regular Farmer John’s but its nice thick, juicy, meaty bacon! And they were only $1 for two pieces of bacon. Since my boyfriend and I love our bacon we bought 6 on Saturday and 8 on Sunday. I got hooked quickly…

foundation.jpg

Finally my last favorite and probably the most shocking one. Recently I had to buy some new foundation because sadly I lost my Kat Von D foundation in Portland. With all that money spent I thought it would be best for my wallet and I to try drugstore foundation. The two words I do not like together. I did my research and thought I would give L’orel Paris Infalliable Pro- Matte 24 HR foundation a try. I amazingly love it and think that the color and coverage is actually better than my Kat Von D one. If you are as shiny as I am then you will love how much this controls it.
