Sephora Play! May Review

Happy Monday!

This month I was so excited that I got off the Sephora Play waitlist. I was put on the wait list since January and completely forgot about it. I didn’t think I would ever get off that list. But here we are and let me say I beyond happy that I kept this subscription.

The unboxing was amazing! I loved the cute striped cardboard it came in and as you open it you were welcomed. They had everything placed neatly that I had to take a moment to enjoy it. Underneath the welcome pamphlet was the Sephora goodie bag.

The pamphlet included all the feature products for the month.

When you opened it up it explained what the product is, how to use it and tips for maximum usage. This was my favorite part of it because sometimes I feel lost when using new kind of products.

It felt like it was my birthday when I saw what came in the box for May. They included Origins MaskimizerDrink Up, and Clear Improvement Masks, Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial , Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask , Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche in Kimchi, Tarte Tarteist Lip Crayon in Latergram and Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine .

Origins Maskimizer™ Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer. This product is amazing for the summer. It helps boost your mask to work harder and better for your skin. Since it was on the hot side this weekend; spraying this mist before applying my mask felt so hydrating. I felt a difference when applying that with a mask. A summer must have for people who breakouts during the summer.

Origins Drink Up™ 10 Minute Mask to Quench Skin’s Thirst. I loved this one with the maskimizer. I felt my skin thank me for rehydrating it. Before, I honestly didn’t even know how dry my face was until I used this mask. Thank god I got to try this amazing mask.

Origins Clear Improvement™ Active Charcoal Mask To Clear Pores. The second day of using this I was shocked . I thought that my skin was junk free but after using this I couldn’t believe how much dirt it took off. I saw all this dirt that was deep in my pores go down the sink. It was nasty but yet amazing. Just remember that a little goes a long way.

Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial. So for the longest I have trying to keep my skin as clear as possible. When I finally cleared it I noticed that I needed to tackle huge pores and scarring from the damage. So when I got this mask, I thanked Sephora for reading my mind and gifting me with this mask. One thing off the bat that I loved was that its perfect for lazy people (like myself). All you do is apply it to your clean face and go to sleep. A phrase I wish was in my beauty routine vocab.  After once use I was hooked I noticed my dark spots become lighter. Another plus was its amazing Rose scent, it soothe me to sleep.

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask . I applied this on the ends of my hair because I have an oily scalp. I noticed a little softness to my hair but not a significant change. I think I liked the smell more than the results of it.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche in Kimchi. Its hard for me to find a lip shade that goes well with my skin tone. Either its too mute or too loud of a color. So when I saw this shade I had my doubts if it would look good on me. I liked the matted shade and how pigmented it was. I even loved the smell of the lipstick, it almost reminded me of the perfume I got.

Tarte Tarteist Lip Crayon in Latergram. Tarte released it new collection and I was dying to try something out. I have never used nor own a lip liner mostly because I never felt the need for them. But this liner made me second guess my last statement. It glided on so smoothly and the color was a beautiful nude. Once I used it I couldn’t stop looking at my lips. The only tip I have is make sure to exfoliate your lips before using.

Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine perfume. This was my favorite by far! I completely fell in love with this scent. It smelled so zesty, fruity and yet romantic. It reminded me of fun beach trips along the coast line. Even my boyfriend got a sniff and loved the aroma it gives off. I caught him many times trying to get a whiff of the perfume. So I’m happy that I found my signature scent for the summer.

After my first experience I will be dreaming of the next box to come! I can’t thank my lucky stars for this amazing subscription.

My Monday Review

Hello Everyone!!

Hope this Monday wasn’t to hard to get through. I know that after this weekend all I was thinking about was sleeping in. But sadly like everyone else I had to get up for work at seven.

Today I wanted to do my review for the month of August. So lets start off with why I decided to buy ALTERNA Haircare Bamboo™ UV+ Color Protection Rehab Deep Hydration Masque. So if you have read My Hair Nightmare before Graduation, then you already know of my hair dying experience.

So after the second trip to the salon that week my hair got damaged, so I bought this Bamboo™ UV+ Color Protection Rehab Deep Hydration Masque. I was looking for the best hair masque that was hydrating and safe enough for my blonde ends. When I found this masque at Ulta for $26.00, I thought it was a perfect match.

When I tried it for the first time, I left it in my hair for about 10 minutes which was more than they recommended. But I didn’t really see any huge difference between washes. As I kept using it I made sure that every time I used it, it would stay in my hair for over 5 minutes. I did notice that once I was almost done with it that my ends were more under control then they once were. But if you are looking for a drastic change then this isn’t the masque for you.

Now that I have finished it, I don’t think I would buy it again.

My Hair Nightmare before Graduation

Whoever said that hair dye was a modern girls best friend lied.

Like any girl I wanted to start dying my hair. I didn’t know the price I would pay for my curiosity. My hair was so out of control, that all I wanted to do was cut off all my hair. But lets start from the beginning.

I was so excited I had never dyed my hair and really wanted a change especially because my graduation was next week on a Monday. So naturally I asked friends and family that have dyed their hair if they recommended any salons. One of my cousin highly recommended this stylist to me that was in my area. I showed the stylist the ombre style I wanted and he said that he could do it. After three hours of work I see the final product and it was REALLY bad. Me being passive I just left the salon thinking I just needed to get use to it.

The next day I talked to my mom about my experience and she convinced me that I had to go and get my money back. After telling him how I felt about it and how it didn’t look anywhere near to what I wanted. He responded by saying that my hair could never do what I wanted in the photo.

I was so upset because it like, why did you mention this before. So I got my money back and I decided to go to Ulta. I spent about $200 on trying to fix my hair before my graduation. I love Ulta because the stylist will answer all your questions and they will be honest with you. Especially when it comes to maintaining your hair.

The girl I got was a savior, she recut my hair because the ends were so uneven and she re-dyed it into a caramel marble ombre. With her help and patience I was able to walk on graduation day with confidence.

So please do a lot of research before you pick a stylist and make sure they can do what you want.
